My brief kettlebell lifting history

Well folk's this is my first blog ever so be patient, learning as I go here!

First a brief history to lead into my blog here. Im a gym owner and strength & conditioning specialist living in NC. I stumbled across a DVD last November titled The Encyclopedia of Kettlebell Lifting by a guy named Steve Cotter. I was intrigued by this unfamiliar shaped weight and so I thought i'd check it out, little did I know that this purchase was about to change my life forever!

I thought I had seen it all being in the fitness industry for close to 10 years, but I was wrong, I was blown away by Steve's awe inspiring demonstrations, and undeniable knowledge. This DVD completely changed the way I trained both myself and my clientele almost immediately. I wanted to start using KB's right away and ordered two pairs, which due to a lack of knowledge at the time embarrassingly weighed a meager 10 & 12lbs .....Duh! Lets keep this amongst us shall we. I learned quickly from here on out, I promise!

So now I have KB's all the way from my little 10's (which actually worked out well for my female clientele) up to 50's and I have absorbed and incorporated all the training techniques from every one of Steve's DVD's into all of my training programs. In my opinion there is no other form of training to compare with the functionality, durability and intensity of kettlebell lifting, it's just awesome! All my clients would agree.

I travel to New York next week to meet the main man himself Steve Cotter and attend the Certified Kettlebell Trainer (CKT) course to advance my knowledge and qualifications further, really looking forward to it, it's going to be a blast!

Also, started GS training 8 weeks ago and just competed in my first kettlebell meet, the IKFF/NAKF national meet in Flint Michigan. I'll just say this was just the most awesome experience, but more on that later......stay tuned!
